Mags... our prayers go out to you in your time of need.

As for me, the newest find was a pair of japanese made walkie-talkie radios for $5... maybe from the 60's. They boasted "9 transistors" on the front label. Well, most of those transistors turned out to be germaniums, which if you know your guitar pedals, are the expensive little basterds that good fuzz pedals are made with. I made a Tonebender MKII fuzz pedal clone out of them... GEEZLOUEEZE!!!! You could rip the wallpaper off the walls with this thing!

Anybody need wallpaper removed in their house?

Just when I thought I'd never find one for myself...

Yesterday I bought a set of Chinese herbalist's cabinets at the thrift store. They have a bunch of tiny drawers with the characters for each herb written on the front of each drawer. There's over a hundred little drawers in all. The main cabinet is over 7 feet tall.

Now... you're asking why I would want such a thing? I teach kung fu and actually practice basic herbal treatment (not like most of YOU guys practice herbal usage, I'm sure).

For $50 I found a late 60's Hohner acoustic guitar from Japan. It's a dead-on copy of a Martin D-28... with the exception of a few cosmetic mods (slight curve to the top of the headstock, two bumps added to the bridge shape as well as the pickguard). There's no nut or bridge saddle, but those are no problem for me. It needs a little love and has plenty of scuffs, but I think it's going to play great!

Sure beats paying $2,300 and up for a new Martin.

For $6 I managed to get this cool sports coat in an awesome green color with gold interior. I'd wear it and tell people I stole it from Augusta when no one was looking in 94' when I was a caddy out there.
